Behavior in Action: A Behavior Toolkit for Energy Efficiency ProgramsNovember 17, 2010 Facilitator: Kira Ashby,
Program Manager, CEE What's It About? In the Spring 0f 2010, the CEE Behavior Committee compiled an overview of behavior change insights from fields such as public health, psychology, and sociology with examples of how these insights are being incorporated into energy efficiency programs. In May, CEE held a webinar that outlined the behavior insights and then provided brief vignettes from a number of different program administrators that had incorporated these insights into their efficiency programs. Building on the aforementioned behavior-focused webinar, the session on November 17 will open with a brief overview of the behavior insights that appear most relevant to - and most commonly applied to - energy efficiency programs, but will take an in-depth look at how two efficiency program administrators have incorporated various behavior insights into their programs. What is Ask the Experts? This webinar is part of the Ask the Experts series of free workshops presented in webinar format to help new or prospective efficiency program administrators tackle specific energy efficiency program issues. The format is both informative and interactive, so be sure to bring your questions. Who Should Attend? Whether you're looking to learn more about how to change the behavior of energy users or are someone who already knows a great deal about changing human behavior, the CEE Behavior in Action webinar is for you. Any program administrator interested in learning more about incorporating behavior change into energy efficiency programs would benefit from this session. We will cover behavior insights that may be familiar to some program administrators with a social science background, but the application of these insights will likely be new to many participants. Ask the Experts is open to new administrators of energy efficiency programs, state regulators, and employees of CEE members. Contractors and consultants are currently excluded. Others may participate by personal invitation of CEE. |
