Not Your Average Motors Program (Part 1 of 2): Working with Trade Allies Through Upstream Prescriptive Programs and Motor InventoriesDecember 9, 2009 2:00-3:30pm Eastern Facilitator: Kellem Emanuele,
CEE What's It About? Motor Systems consume nearly 50% of energy in the industrial sector. Currently, more than 60 CEE members offer programs that target this opportunity. New federal minimum efficiency standards for 1-200hp motors in December 2010, coupled with aggressive savings goals, make this session particularly timely as efficiency programs seek new program strategies to target motor systems. Participants will learn about program approaches that focus on motor service centers and other trade allies to reach industrial customers, rather than providing rebates directly to customers. The webinar will cover important foundational topics, including: defining the savings opportunities and market potential; key considerations for program planning and design; program delivery approaches; how these differ from approaches for “traditional” equipment-based prescriptive programs; program results and lessons learned. This session will also provide participants with an understanding of the benefits and challenges associated with these programs. What is Ask the Experts? This webinar is part of the Ask the Experts series of free workshops presented in webinar format to help new or prospective efficiency program administrators tackle specific energy efficiency program issues. The format is both informative and interactive, so be sure to bring your questions. Who Should Attend? Ask the Experts is open to new administrators of energy efficiency programs, state regulators, and employees of CEE members. Contractors and consultants are currently excluded. Others may participate by personal invitation of CEE. This session is intended for new industrial program administrators and planners and veteran industrial program administrators and planners exploring approaches beyond downstream rebates for new motor purchases. |
