Tapping Into Deep Savings: Program Approaches to Pump System OptimizationDate/Time: March 23, 2010 2:00-3:30pm Eastern What's It About? Pump systems represent more than one third of available motor systems energy savings in the industrial sector. These potential savings exceeded 34 billion kWh in the industrial sector in 1998, and are surely higher today. Additional savings are available from pump systems in the agricultural and water-wastewater sectors. 26 CEE members offer programs targeting pump system savings, and others incentivize pump system projects through industrial custom offerings. Pump systems pose a challenge for efficiency programs, because they are by nature unique and complex. Drawing on the expertise of experienced program administrators and industry experts, this session will focus on proven approaches to extracting cost effective energy savings from pump systems. Key topics for discussion will include clearly defining the savings opportunity, considerations for program design, program delivery approaches, barriers to implementation, and lessons learned. Participants will benefit from the perspectives shared by experts in program design and delivery, and can expect to improve their understanding of the opportunities and challenges pump systems pose. Who Should Attend? Ask the Experts is open to new administrators of energy efficiency programs, state regulators, and employees of CEE members. Contractors and consultants are currently excluded. Others may participate by personal invitation of CEE. Program planners, designers and implementers serving industrial, water-wastewater, or agricultural sectors will find this session especially useful. |
