Water-Wastewater Efficiency Programs for Municipal CustomersOctober 27, 2009 2:00-3:30pm Eastern Facilitator: Jess Burgess,
CEE What's It About? Efficiency programs serving the water and wastewater treatment sector present an opportunity to realize significant energy savings and provide critical cost relief to municipal customers. There are more than 16,000 water and wastewater treatment facilities, located in virtually every community in the U.S. These facilities represent the largest energy consumers in many municipalities. Aging infrastructure, rising energy costs, and tightening permit regulations threaten to swamp municipal service budgets across North America. As a result, treatment facility managers and municipal officials are more receptive than previously to opportunities to reduce their energy costs while improving their effluent quality. This session will focus on effective means to achieve energy savings in the water-wastewater sector, with a focus on considerations for program design, key technologies and processes, and lessons learned from experienced program administrators. What is Ask the Experts? This webinar is part of the Ask the Experts series of free workshops presented in webinar format to help new or prospective efficiency program administrators tackle specific energy efficiency program issues. The format is both informative and interactive, so be sure to bring your questions. Who Should Attend? Ask the Experts is open to new administrators of energy efficiency programs, state regulators, and employees of CEE members. Contractors and consultants are currently excluded. Others may participate by personal invitation of CEE. This session is intended for new industrial and municipal program planners and managers, or for staff at programs in the planning or beginning stages of offering a water-wastewater program. |
