Executive Staff Marc Hoffman is the Executive Director of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency. He directs CEE's efforts to transform national markets through the market transformation initiatives of its members. Marc has been actively supporting the energy efficiency activities of utilities for more than 20 years. He was vice president at XENERGY, chief economist at the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Council as well as a consultant with LaCapra Associates and Stone & Webster Management Consultants. Edward Wisniewski directs CEE’s Program Staff and has overall responsibility for program development and direction. Under Ed’s direction, CEE has significantly increased staff capability in all electrical end use sectors as well as natural gas programming, and CEE has emerged as a major player with key industries. Prior to joining CEE in 1995, Ed had held several positions including Senior Economic Analyst, Project Manager and Management Analyst at the Illinois Commerce Commission as well as Sales Representative for Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals. He is a cum laude graduate from Illinois State University holding degrees in Marketing as well as Economics. Laura May, CEE's Director of Administration, who joined CEE in 2000, is responsible for the organization's day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include purchasing, system support, human resources, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, meeting planning, corporate records and corporate support. Other duties include travel planning, delivery services, special projects and managing outside service providers. Laura is a graduate of Marquette University and has a strong background in computer systems and support and has extensive experience in office management. Sarah Griffith, Strategic Communications Director, who joined CEE in 2007, is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the organization’s marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities. Prior to coming to CEE, Sarah served in a variety of jobs combining marketing and education, most recently at Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology. Sarah holds a master’s degree in visual studies from MIT and an undergraduate degree in philosophy from University of Michigan where she graduated with distinction. Program Staff - Industrial Programs Ted Jones, who has been with CEE since 1999, directs programs in water/wastewater, motor systems related to water/wastewater (such as pumping), commercial kitchens and transformers. Ted oversees CEE's program efforts in premium-efficiency motors, motor systems and motor repair. He has a bachelors degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Industrial Management and a masters from George Washington University in Science, Technology and Public Policy.
Toby Ast joined CEE in September 2007 as a Program Manager. He supports CEE Industrial Initiatives, specifically in water/wastewater and distribution transformers. Toby comes to CEE from PlanetTran, a transportation company in Cambridge, MA that uses hybrid vehicles as limousines. He earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from Duke University and a Masters in Business Administration from Babson College. Kellem Emanuele joined CEE in January 2008 as a Program Manager. She supports CEE Industrial Initiatives, specifically CEE's Premium-Efficiency Motors and Motor Systems Initiatives, as well as the Motor Decisions Matter Campaign. She earned an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Bucknell University and a Masters in Public Policy, specializing in Environmental Policy, from the University of Maryland. Program Staff - Residential Programs Rebecca Foster manages CEE's Residential Lighting Initiative, directing CEE's partnership with the American Lighting Association and the Department of Energy under the Lighting for Tomrorow banner. Rebecca also provides direction to residential staff on the Residential Central Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Initiative, the Super-Efficient Home Appliances Initiative, the Consumer Electronics Initiative and CEE's developing Whole House exploration. A CEE staffer since 2000, she became Residential Program Manager in January 2002. Rebecca is a graduate of Boston University. John Taylor is in charge of CEE's Residential Central Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Initiative, and also manages CEE’s burgeoning efforts in Whole House efficiency, which encompasses new and existing homes. John joined CEE in October 2002 and was promoted to Program Manager in January 2004. He has Masters degrees in Environmental Management and Public Policy from Duke University, and a Bachelors degree in economics from Kalamazoo College. Margie Lynch joined CEE as Program Manager in July 2007. Her work includes the following areas: Residential and Commercial HVAC, Whole House and Electronics. Margie comes to CEE from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, where she directed its partnership activities. Margie holds a law degree from Columbia Law School and a Bachelors degree in political science from Middlebury College. Eileen Eaton joined CEE in March 2006 as a Residential Program Associate. She splits her time between residential lighting and gas programs. Eileen holds a Masters degree in Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and Bachelors degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Program Staff - Commercial Programs Jason Erwin, who joined CEE in December 2006, manages and supports CEE's commercial programs with a focus on whole-building energy efficiency. Previously, Jason worked as an Associate for Booz Allen Hamilton for eight years, helping to develop energy and environmental policy and energy management programs for government clients. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and holds a Masters degree in Environmental Science from Lund University (Sweden) and a Bachelors degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University. Afroz Khan joined CEE in April 2003 and was promoted to Senior Program Manager in August 2006. She was responsible for the launch of CEE initiatives in Commercial Kitchens and Commercial Lighting. Currently, Afroz heads up CEE's efforts in Commercial HVAC. Holder of a Masters in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she is an Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with 15 years experience in the electric power/energy industry. Kate Baldacci joined CEE in the fall of 2007 as a Program Manager to oversee commercial lighting initiatives and support all commercial programs. She was previously employed as a consultant, working to reduce waste and improve efficiency in a number of manufacturing facilities. Kate graduated magna cum laude from Skidmore College and holds a masters degree in the Life Sciences from Brandeis University.
Kim Erickson joined CEE in April 2008 as a Program Manager for CEE’s Commercial Kitchens Initiative as well as support for all Commercial programs. Prior to joining CEE, Kim managed a foodservice equipment dealership where she was responsible for all aspects of company operations. She earned her undergraduate degree in Geography from Johns Hopkins University and a Masters in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Program Staff - Evaluation / Research Monica Nevius became CEE's first Research and Evaluation Manager in January 2001. Monica supports members' market research and evaluation work by organizing opportunities for collaborative or jointly-sponsored efforts, such as the annual ENERGY STAR survey. She also organizes evaluation training classes for members and oversaw the development of a searchable Web-based database of evaluation reports (Market Assessment and Program Evaluation Clearinghouse). Monica holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin. Johanna Krouk joined CEE in January 2007 as a Research Assistant. She divides her time between supporting evaluation and the rest of CEE’s research needs. Johanna holds a Bachelors degree in Anthropology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Program Staff - Gas Programs Kara Rodgers became CEE's Senior Program Manager for Natural Gas Programs in March 2007. She has an undergraduate degree and Masters of Business Administration from Yale University. Most recently, Kara served as Manager of Marketing and Strategy for Praxair, the largest supplier of industrial gases in North and South America. Jennifer Anziano joined CEE in June 2008 as a Natural Gas Program Manager to oversee CEE's Residential Heating Initiative and Commercial Gas Heating Explorations. She holds a Masters degree in Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelors degree in Geology from Macalester College.
Joanne O'Donnell joined CEE in December 2006 as a Natural Gas Program Associate. Her work focuses on high-efficiency water heating technologies and other gas efficiency program initiatives. Joanne holds three degrees from Boston University, with a Masters in Energy and Environmental Analysis, and Bachelors degrees in Environmental Analysis and Policy as well as Political Science. Program Services Casey Erisman joined CEE in September of 2008 as the Program Services Manager. In addition to coordinating CEE meetings across the US, he handles the Ask the Experts webinar program and assists the Deputy Director. He graduated cum laude from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy & Religion and a minor in International Relations. He is currently enrolled in the Global Studies & Non-Profit Management program at Northeastern University.
Alison Nihart joined CEE in April 2008 as the Program Services Assistant. In addition to providing research support, Alison assists with the coordination of CEE meetings and updates qualifying products lists. She holds a bachelors degree in Studio Art and Environmental Studies from Skidmore College. |
