Evaluation, Research & Behavior at CEE

Among CEE's goals is the promotion of effective evaluation research. CEE's Evaluation Program is designed to help members use their resources more efficiently and effectively in the pursuit of energy efficiency.

The responsibilities of the Evaluation Program Manager include:

  • Leveraging members' resources by identifying and coordinating opportunities for members to coordinate and collaborate on a wide variety of evaluation-related activities

  • Conducting research on energy-efficiency program evaluation, disseminating the research, and engaging membership in dialogues and coordinated efforts designed to further energy-efficiency program evaluation, especially Market Transformation evaluation

  • Identifying research and training needs for members and other audiences, and arranging for these needs to be met in ways identified as appropriate by members and CEE management

  • Maintaining a database of evaluation research reports

The CEE Evaluation Committee, which meets monthly by conference call, helps determine where CEE should focus its evaluation efforts, works on collaborative projects, and shares information about and results of evaluation efforts of interest to the group.

The committee also provides a forum for members to consult with one another and the group about issues of broad concern to the energy-efficiency program evaluation community. In addition, several subcommittees meet on an ongoing basis to address specific issues, while others are formed ad hoc for short-term projects.

For further information about CEE's Evaluation & Research Program, contact Monica Nevius at 617-589-3949, ext. 227.

The CEE Behavior Committee works to apply lessons from the social sciences to help members better design behavior change-focused programs aimed at reducing energy consumption. This committee includes a number of smaller subcommittees that focus on topics such as behavior change program evaluation; behavior change program design, marketing and communications; and market research. Members of this committee also seek to improve the way in which behavior change efforts are measured and evaluated. A joint, members-only website for the Evaluation & Behavior Committees provides a wealth of information including an archive of recent and past meeting minutes, a variety of downloadable resources relevant to behavior change in energy efficiency, a calendar of upcoming committee meetings and events, and links to other online resources.

For further information on the Behavior Committee, or to join, please contact Kira Ashby at 617-337-9281 or via email.
