Residential Program Summaries Published in 2011

CEE has recently published multiple Program Summaries that describe energy efficiency program efforts within the Residential Sector. Program Summaries are designed to communicate CEE member program details to key market players and stakeholders.

The summaries provide an overview of voluntary programs for the promotion of energy efficient homes and products. Each summary provides program details, including goals and objectives, incentives, duration, and program manager contact information.

Program Summary Date Published CEE Members Included
Natural Gas Water Heating March 2011 41
Natural Gas Space Heating April 2011 29
Residential Appliances May 2011 39
Residential Lighting May 2011 39
New Homes June 2011 36
Consumer Electronics July 2011 20

Each of these Program Summaries, described below, provides a snapshot of the current landscape of energy efficiency programs. They are not exhaustive or all-inclusive in scope, and are subject to change as individual programs evolve and develop over time.

Residential Appliances

The Summary of Residential Appliance Programs in the United States and Canada is a collection of information regarding voluntary energy efficiency program activities for the four appliances covered under the CEE Super-Efficient Home Appliances Initiative: clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and room air conditioners. For questions or suggestions, please contact Eileen Eaton.

Residential Lighting

The 2011 Residential Lighting Program Summary provides an overview of current programs that promote energy efficient lighting. The purpose of the Program Summary is to provide CEE members with a resource to learn about and discuss each others' approaches, and to inform industry partners about energy efficiency program activities as a whole. For comments or questions, please contact Eileen Eaton.

New Homes

CEE’s Residential New Homes Program Summary describes currently active voluntary programs for the construction of new homes that meet certain energy performance requirements. These new homes programs provide various guidelines for energy efficiency through a combination of measures, such as insulation, windows, ducts, heating and cooling equipment, lighting and appliances. Voluntary programs deliver residential buildings that are more energy efficient than homes built to the local building codes through either comprehensive performance-based approaches or prescriptive single end-use specifications. For questions or comments, please contact Alice Rosenberg.

Consumer Electronics

The CEE Consumer Electronics Program Summary provides an overview of currently active programs that promote energy efficient consumer electronics. These programs, administered by CEE member organizations, offer incentives or other support for electronics products that meet certain efficiency specifications, primarily through partnerships with retailers and manufacturers. For comments or suggestions, please contact Margie Lynch.

Natural Gas Space Heating

The Gas Space Heating Program Summary covers residential boilers, residential furnaces, climate controls, and direct heating equipment. For more information, please contact Tony Gross.

Natural Gas Water Heating

The Gas Water Heating Program Summary includes storage, tankless, and solar water heater programs across the United States and Canada. Please contact Tony Gross with any questions
