Ask the Experts

Two Upcoming Lighting Program Webinars:

Commercial on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 2:00–3:30PM Eastern
Residential on Friday, April 18, 2008, 1:00–2:30PM Eastern

These events are part of the Ask the Experts series of free workshops presented in webinar format to help new or prospective efficiency program administrators tackle energy efficiency program issues in depth. Hear from top program administrators about how they approached designing lighting programs, what worked, and what lessons they learned. The format is both informative and interactive so be sure to bring your questions.

A Framework for Developing and Implementing a Successful Commercial Lighting Program

April 15, 2–3:30 Eastern

Facilitated by Kate Baldacci, CEE Commercial Program Manager

What's It About?

What should you consider in starting your own commercial lighting program? This Webinar covers fundamentals such as defining your market and the savings opportunities, program planning and design, prescriptive program approaches, and results.

Hear lessons learned from program administrators who've been there and learn the ins and outs of efficient commercial lighting. How were commercial customers signed up? What are the results and how were they measured?

Who Should Attend?

Commercial program planners, designers, and implementers with 0-3 years of experience will gain understanding of key considerations for commercial program development.

Session Agenda

During the first half of this webinar, the experts will give a brief overview of their lighting programs and experience, including key assumptions, objectives, and evaluation techniques during the early stages of their programs. The second half of the webinar is dedicated to a questions and answer period and facilitated discussion.

Experts

Joe Vaccher, Energy Management Specialist for Eugene Water & Elecric Board
Joe's technical and engineering expertise provides a perspective into savings opportunities. He's from a West coast muni.

Tom Coughlin, Program Manager, National Grid USA
Tom brings his perspective as a CEE committee co-chair and long time East coast IOU program administrator.

CFL Basics: Three Program Types

April 18, 1–2:30 Eastern

Facilitated by Rebecca Foster, CEE Residential Senior Program Manager

What's It About?

What are the fundamentals of a residential CFL program? This webinar covers three basic program types: 1) incentive programs with big box and hardware stores, 2) educational programs, and 3) school fundraisers.

CFLs are an obvious first choice for a program, but why reinvent the wheel? Hear ways to avoid pitfalls from the start and achieve your goals.

And watch this space! CEE is planning future Ask the Experts webinars on residential lighting. Topics under development include  how to promote ENERGY STAR® fixtures and leverage the Change A Light campaign.

Who Should Attend?

Residential lighting offers large savings opportunities and is a great place to start achieving energy savings. This webinar is targeted at managers who are new to efficiency programs altogether and those who have familiarity with some, but not all, of these program types.

Session Agenda

CEE will briefly introduce the area of residential lighting, then the experts will tell their own program stories. Each expert will provide an overview of his or her program type, benefits and costs, and lessons learned. The second half of the webinar is devoted to hearing your particular situation and ideas and answering your questions.
