Industrial Variable Speed Drive Programs: Capturing Industrial Energy Efficiency Opportunities with Variable Speed Drives

2:00-3:30pm Eastern, March 10, 2009

Facilitators: Toby Ast, CEE
Experts: Chris Milan, Bonneville Power Administration; Kevin Morley, NSTAR

What's It About?

This Ask the Experts session tackled variable speed drives (VSDs) and the role they play in industrial energy efficiency. VSDs offer measurable energy savings and serve as the cornerstone of many efficiency program approaches to the industrial sector. In 2008, 23 CEE member programs offered a range of VSD-related measures and incentives. During this webinar two CEE members, Bonneville Power Administration and NSTAR, described their current VSD programs, objectives, results and lessons learned. Webinar participants were encouraged to come with questions for the experts about incorporating VSDs into efficiency programs.

What is Ask the Experts?

This event is part of the Ask the Experts series of free workshops presented in webinar format to help new or prospective efficiency program administrators tackle energy efficiency program issues in depth. Hear from top program administrators about how they approached designing effective residential gas heating programs, what worked, and what lessons they learned. The format is both informative and interactive, so be sure to bring your questions.
