CEE's Commercial Buildings Performance Committee is currently focused on:

  • Improving energy efficiency and performance within the office building sector, and particularly on existing buildings

  • Updating a working draft of a whole-building program approach to commercial energy efficiency

  • Working closely with ENERGY STAR® and building key industry partnerships.
CEE also facilitates information exchange on New Construction and Schools.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES
CEE's work focuses on existing commercial buildings and harmonizes with the ENERGY STAR® Buildings program. Focusing on the whole-building performance of existing buildings, CEE's Commercial Building Performance Committee has accomplished the following:

    1. Development of a Commercial Whole-Building Energy Performance Goal (consistent with ENERGY STAR® targets) and a set of Attributes and Indicators of Whole-Building Energy Performance

    2. Development of a Whole-Building Performance Program Model that ties in relevant national programs (such as ENERGY STAR) and is compatible with existing commercial program portfolios

    3. Fostering relationships with key national industry associations, such as the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). Click here for additional information about the BOMA Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP).

    4. Worked with members and interested stakeholders to discuss opportunities and challenges in maximizing the potential program benefits of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Click here for further information.
