CEE COMMERCIAL LIGHTING QUALIFYING PRODUCT LISTS

How do products qualify for the list?

To qualify for the CEE product lists, models must meet the efficiency specifications developed by CEE. The efficiency specifications for High Performance and Reduced Wattage lamps and ballasts can be found here: http://www.cee1.org/com/com-lt/com-lt-main.php3. Manufacturers are responsible for submitting information about their products to CEE in order for their models to appear on the list. Please see the Commercial Lighting Main Page for submission forms.

How often does CEE update its product lists?

CEE updates the lighting qualifying product lists on or around the 1st of every month. In order to guarantee that a model appears on the CEE list, manufacturers should submit data to CEE at least 5 business days before the next update. Late submissions are added to the next month's list.

What if the model that I'm looking for is not listed, but I think it should be?

If your model is not listed on the CEE list, but you believe it should be, first make sure you are viewing the most recent version of the list (the date should be no more than one month old). If it is an old list, refresh your Web browser, clear your temporary internet files, and delete your browsing history.

Based on the efficiency criteria, if you still feel that the model should be on the CEE list, it is likely that the manufacturer has not submitted data for that model to CEE, or that CEE has not yet processed this data. Please contact Casey Erisman at 617-337-9264 to confirm the status of your model.

Does CEE list dimmable ballasts?

Yes. Please see the dimmable ballast tab on the High Performance spreadsheet for a current list of qualified products. CEE lists dimmable ballasts that meet the programmed-rapid start requirements of the High Performance T8 specification at full light output.

Where can I find the CEE list for 2' or 8' products? What about T5s?

At this time, CEE only maintains a specification and corresponding qualified product list for 4' T8 lamps and ballasts. It's possible that your local efficiency program may offer rebates for other lighting products, but you would have to contact them directly to better understand their program requirements.

Why can't I find rapid start ballasts on the Reduced Wattage list?

At this time, CEE only lists instant start ballasts on our Reduced Wattage list. When the specification was developed, most 25w and 28w lamps were designed to be operated on instant start ballasts exclusively. Many of the lamps are incompatible with dimming ballasts, and should also not be used in dimming applications. Some products are compatible, and a few CEE members will make exceptions for those products. Again, please contact your local efficiency program to inquire about their program requirements.

How can I qualify my LED replacement lamp?

CEE is not aware that any members are currently providing incentives for LED replacement lamps of linear T8s. One reason is that many of the replacement lamps on the market have lower light output and could result in low illumination levels in retrofit applications. Please see the CEE Position Paper and the DOE LED Replacement fact sheet for additional information.

I am a manufacturer and I would like my (non-fluorescent 4' T8 product) energy efficient product listed with CEE.

The Consortium for Energy Efficiency typically undertakes new Initiatives based on strong member interest in a product or technology. If you have a type of product for which CEE does not currently have an Initiative or maintain a Qualifying Products List, we encourage you to contact individual program administrators about your opportunity.

How often are CEE specifications revised?

CEE specifications are not revised on a specific or consistent timeline. Rather, CEE evaluates its specifications within its program committees when changes in technology, product market availability, and other factors occur. For more information on how the CEE process works, please explore our Web site.

REBATES

If I see my model on a CEE list, does that mean I qualify for a rebate?

Not necessarily. Each rebate program is different. The efficiency program in your area determines what models will qualify for its rebates, and they may utilize the CEE Qualifying Products Lists as their basis for qualification. Please contact your local program administrator to confirm product qualification.

How can I find out about rebates in my area?

Typically, rebate programs are run by your local utility. If you are unsure who your electricity or gas provider is, we recommend you look at your most recent energy bill. Visit your utility's Web site or give the company a call to find out what rebates are being offered in your area.

I applied for a rebate and I haven't heard back, or my rebate has been rejected. Can CEE intervene?

CEE does not administer rebate programs, and we do not mitigate between program administrators and their customers. The only people who can answer rebate questions are the folks working at your local rebate program.

Why is the CEE qualifying products list featured on my utility's Web site?

CEE is a nonprofit organization with membership across North America. Many CEE members are utilities that offer rebate programs. CEE works with its members, the ENERGY STAR program, and others to develop efficiency specifications that utilities may choose to adopt in their incentive programs. Use of these specifications and participation in the incentive program is voluntary.

Qualifying product lists are one service that CEE provides to its members. Some efficiency programs link to these lists on their Web sites to provide their customers with the most recent listing of efficient products. However, CEE is not responsible for the administration of any rebate programs.
