NOTES AND CAVEATS ABOUT THE IMPACTS DATA
While every attempt has been made to ensure that the savings impacts information is accurate, the data are limited in certain unavoidable ways described below.
When reading this report, keep in mind the following:
- Savings impacts are estimates. Not all impacts reported have been verified.
- The majority of the reported impacts are net.
- It is not possible to calculate cost-effectiveness using these tables and comparing to the budget data. The savings impacts reported are for CEE members
only, while the budget data have been calculated for all program administrators, whether or not they are CEE members.
- These are estimated annual impacts. The figures include all the savings accrued in 2006 for measures installed in 2006 as well as for measures installed
as early as 1992 that are still generating savings.
- The estimates shown in Tables 10 and 14 do not include the savings from load management/control programs.
For actual peak load reduction (demand savings) from U.S. electric programs, see Table 12. For potential peak
load reduction from U.S. programs, see Table 13.

- U.S. electric and gas retail values were calculated based on the average rate per kWh or therm across the U.S. in 2006. Average electric rates
used: $0.104 per kWh (residential); $ 0.0781 per kWh (commercial/industrial). Average gas rates used: $1.336 per therm (residential); $ 0.965 per therm
(commercial/industrial). Source of averages: Energy Information Administration, Electric Power Annual 2006, November 2007,

- Canadian gas retail values were calculated based on the average rate per therm across Canada in 2006. Average gas rates used: C$1.3634 per
therm (residential); C$0.9726 per therm (commercial/industrial). Source of gas averages: Statistics Canada, Energy Statistics Handbook. Rates are exclusive
of taxes.
- Canadian electric retail values were calculated based on the average rate per kWh across Canada in 2005. Average electric rates used: C$0.079
per kWh (residential); C$ 0.0925 per kWh (commercial/industrial). Source of electric averages: Natural Resources Canada, Natural Resources Canada, Energy
