CEE's COMMERCIAL NATURAL GAS WATER HEATING INITIATIVE

CEE has launched a High Efficiency Natural Gas Commercial Water Heating Initiative, effective June 24, 2011. Through this Initiative, CEE will support members’ efforts and work together to achieve the following goals and objectives:

The long-term goal of the Initiative is to increase the market penetration of high efficiency commercial water heaters and to develop specifications that achieve savings and are cost-effectiveness for the CEE efficiency program membership. This goal will be achieved when:

• Building owners, building managers, energy managers, or property managers request high efficiency equipment
• High efficiency equipment is included in new construction building design plans by builders, design engineers, architects, or developers
• High efficiency equipment is promoted, sold, and installed in commercial buildings by installers
• High efficiency equipment is available from manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors and promoted to installers and key commercial building decision makers.
  
  

The Initiative’s primary objectives in pursuit of the long-term goals are to:

• Increase the number of high efficiency models available
• Increase the percentage of sales of high efficiency equipment
• Build a market of sufficient size to help achieve the scale of production that allows manufacturers to offer high efficiency equipment at an attractive price to commercial building customers
• Increase the number of manufacturers, wholesalers, and installers who promote high efficiency equipment to their respective customer bases

QUALIFYING STORAGE WATER HEATERS

CEE develops a monthly Qualified Products List (QPL) of commercial natural gas storage water heaters that meet the specifications for CEE's Commercial Natural Gas Water Heating Initiative. CEE does not yet have a Qualified Products List for commercial natural gas tankless water heaters. Please stay tuned for more information.

COMMERCIAL WATER HEATING PROGRAM SUMMARY

CEE develops an annual Program Summary that highlights utility and state efficiency program rebates and incentives for commercial natural gas storage and tankless water heaters.
