Existing Homes Program Guide Executive Summary
CEE's Home Performance Committee is exploring
energy-saving opportunities in three areas:
- New Construction
- Existing Homes
- Windows
NEW CONSTRUCTION
New construction covers the building of new energy-efficient homes,
including the new home's envelope (outer walls, windows, doors, skylights,
roof and insulation), HVAC system, ductwork, lighting and appliances. The
Whole House Committee is currently monitoring developments in new construction
and implementation of the ENERGY STAR® for New Homes program.
The CEE
New Homes Program Summary provides
an overview of the currently active member new homes programs across the
United States and Canada.
EXISTING HOMES
The Existing Homes Program Guide contains information on voluntary programs
for the promotion of energy efficient homes in the United States and Canada.
Developed by a working group of 110 CEE member organizations and representatives
from the industries that serve the existing homes market, this document
has become a key reference point and represents the foundation for consistency
in messaging, not just by efficiency programs but by all stakeholders.
The Existing Homes Program Guide Executive
Summary is available online. For more information, or to obtain a copy of
the full CEE Existing Homes Program Guide, please contact Alice Rosenberg.
WINDOWS
The Whole House Committee is exploring opportunities to promote super-efficient
windows, such as highly-insulating and triple-pane products. Through conference
calls, product overview documents, and collaboration with DOE, the Committee
is working to advance the market for energy efficient windows
