CEE's 2005 lighting workshop

On November 16, 2005, CEE held a workshop for managers of residential lighting efficiency programs. The workshop included an in-depth presentation on the lighting fixture market from Norm Brown of Norburn Lighting.

Brown is a Certified Lighting Consultant and serves as a key member of the American Lighting Association’s Certification Committee. His presentation drew on 25 years of experience in residential lighting and provided attendees with the industry-specific knowledge needed to make more informed decisions about their fixture programs.

Attendees of the workshop also viewed the winning entries from the 2005 Lighting for Tomorrow competition and discussed the introduction of these products into the market. Future plans for the Lighting for Tomorrow partnership were also discussed and attendees provided feedback on the LFT Draft Program Plan, which covers proposed activities from 2006-2009.

As the workshop was held in California, the new Title 24 codes were also examined. The workshop provided a forum for efficiency managers to discuss the potential changes at both the state and national level of the new codes, as well as what those changes mean for fixture efficiency programs across the country and in Canada. Phase 3 winners announced

Twenty-five CEE members generously supported Phase 3 of Lighting for Tomorrow, a year-long project designed to bring new fixture families and technologies to market, and to expand the market infrastructure to deliver them.
