Twenty-six CEE members generously supported the fifth year of the Lighting for Tomorrow residential fixture competition. Their goal is to bring new fixture families and technologies to market and expand the market infrastructure to deliver them. There are two categories in the competition, one for fixtures accepting compact fluorescent lamps (CFL)and one for solid state lighting (SSL).

On September 11, the winners of the 2007 Lighting for Tomorrow competition were announced at the American Lighting Association Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. In the CFL Indoor Fixture Family category, the Grand Prize was awarded to Sea Gull Lighting for its Acadia family. In the CFL Outdoor Fixture Family category, Savoy House won the top prize for its Aficinado family. The Grand Prize in the SSL category was awarded to the LR6 Recessed Downlight, produced by LED Lighting Fixtures.
