Sarah Griffith joined CEE in September in the newly created position of strategic communications director. She will be directing CEE’s outreach to critical stakeholders in order to strengthen relationships and to enhance marketing efforts. “CEE is well-positioned to meet the growing needs of the efficiency programs of the United States and Canada,” commented Griffith. “I’m excited to contribute and support the solid work, openness, and commitment to fair process I’ve seen among the CEE program committees at the St. Louis Industry Partners Meeting. With assets like that, creating a clear marketing message for CEE will not be difficult.” Griffith is currently working with CEE sector team leads to also understand CEE program communication needs.

Griffith most recently held the position of manager of educational initiatives at Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology and was previously the communications manager for an environmental research firm specializing in nonpoint source pollution. She holds a master’s degree from MIT in visual studies and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.

Other Personnel Changes
Toby Ast joined our industrial team as a program manager in September. He is managing both distribution transformers and wastewater initiatives. Previously, he worked as director of operations at PlanetTran, a limousine service that uses hybrid vehicles exclusively. Ast received an undergraduate degree from Duke University in biology and an M.B.A. from Babson College.

CEE also welcomes Kate Baldacci as a new member of the commercial team in the position of program manager. In this role, Baldacci will manage the CEE commercial lighting initiative and support CEE’s growing commercial work. Most recently, Baldacci worked as a consultant at Hagen & Company where she facilitated the development of process efficiency solutions for a number of large corporate clients. Previously, she worked in a project management capacity on commercial new construction and multifamily residential projects. Baldacci has a strong analytical background, receiving a B.Sc. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Skidmore College and a M.Sc. in Molecular Biology/Neuroscience from Brandeis University.
