CEE is delighted to announce that Omar Siddiqui, a senior project manager and chief strategist for energy efficiency at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), has agreed to speak at the CEE Fifth Annual Industry Partners Meeting. His research activities focus on assessing the economic and environmental impacts of energy efficiency, demand response, and the emerging smart grid infrastructure. At the meeting, he will be describing EPRI's work in emerging electric technologies. Siddiqui hopes to provide the audience with an overview of the research EPRI is focused on that is relevant to CEE members. This talk is a follow-on to the recent EPRI power delivery and use advisory meeting in Denver where Marc Hoffman, CEE executive director, delivered a joint presentation with Siddiqui.
Both CEE and EPRI are nonprofit, 501(c)3 organizations, funded by an electric utility membership that largely overlaps; the two also happen to pursue complementary missions. EPRI conducts research and development for the electricity sector, while CEE works with program administrators to bring new, efficient products and services to the market, both with a special focus on energy efficiency.
